Can't log in - Guild Wars Forums

Alright, so a while back, I downloaded the Guild Wars Trilogy digitally and played it for only a very little bit.

This was back in December of 2009 and now were in early 2011 and I wanted to play again.

Since I wiped and reloaded my computer about 6 months ago, I had to re install guild wars.

I did not remember any of my information but it was easy since my account was linked with my e-mail. so I reset my password, got my user name and was all ready to go.

The problem is that Guild Wars requires me to fill in the name of one of my Characters. (With MANY people getting back into gaming after a large gap of not playing, I don't see why this question is relevant, but w/e)

I was unable to remember my character's name since I was only like, between the levels of 1-3.

There are no screen shots saved on my computer since I wiped and reloaded my computer, so I had to e-mail customer support.

I e-mailed them and I got a reply back requesting information such as my name, address, date of birth, last 4 digits of the credit card used, my Guild Wars serial number. and characters name.

(If I knew my characters name, I would not be in this predicament in the first place) so I sent them all the information I could, but I cant find the serial code. my Guild Wars provile lists all but the last set of digits. the rest of the code is all XXXXX.

I have not gotten a response back and I tried calling their phone support located in Texas USA, but they said their support is closed due to local weather conditions.

There isn't much else you can do. Support will provide you with a character name if they feel you've given them enough information that they're sure you are who you are. Keep in mind it's the weekend so don't expect a quick response.

What you can do, however, is look for places where you might have stored your IGN. Screenshots are the easiest but as you mention you don't have any. Did you write it down anywhere (either on paper or digitally)? Do you have any friends you could ask? Did you post it on a forum somewhere? Things like that. Also keep in mind that there is no limit on the amount of incorrect logon attempts you can make so if you have a vague idea what the name could be you could try guessing.

So if they think I am not who I am, then I have to spend another $50 for the game? if so that would be complete BS.

As for the name, do the characters in guild wars have to have a first and last name? meaning I need both? or do the characters name to enter just require 1 name?

you will the the characters FULL name (if you character was say II john doe II you will need that whole name in the field) Guildwars required at least a two word name for characters, so at least a first and last name.
